Right handed players put the two reference points of your hand marked by coins above on the number 1 side of the racket grip for a backhand stroke, the number 2 side for serving and the number 3 side for forehands.

Left handed players use the same reference points of your left hand on the number 1 side of the racket grip for a backhand stroke, the number 8 side for serving and the number 7 side for forehands.
