Learn more about the sky at night and our wonderful dark sky environment at this free event.  Ahead of stargazing in the evening visit our pop-up planetarium in the Sports Centre Hall for a sky tour, the planetarium sessions will operate on a drop-in basis between 3pm and 6pm.  If a session is full, or has already started, please be patient and wait for the next session – there will be other information/activities to do whilst you wait.

The evening stargazing session will start at 7.30pm. Our astronomers will set up a number of telescopes to show a selection of planets, star clusters, galaxies, and nebulae. Do bring your own binoculars or telescope if you have them.

Hot drinks and hot sausages will be available to purchase.

The event is being held at the Chalke Valley Sports Centre, the ground will be damp in the evening so please bring a chair and dress warmly.  We advise you to dress for a temperature approximately 5° lower than the forecast temperature.

For safety reasons there are strictly no dogs at this event.

It is a condition of attendance that attendees do not use laser pointers.
